MacOS 10.13.5 Beta 1 Released for Testing

Apple has released the first beta version of MacOS High Sierra 10.13.5 for users participating in the Mac system software beta testing program.

The macOS 10.13.5 beta 1 release comes a day after the first beta of iOS 11.4 arrived for iPhone and iPad.

MacOS 10.13.5 beta 1 presumably focuses on bug fixes and security enhancements to the High Sierra system software. It’s possible that MacOS 10.13.5 beta also includes support for iMessages in iCloud, just as the iOS 11.4 beta release does.

Users enrolled in the MacOS High Sierra beta testing program can find the macOS 10.13.5 beta 1 release available to download now from the Mac App Store. Typically the developer build is released first, and soon followed by the public beta release.

Apple usually goes through a variety of beta releases before issuing a final version to the general public. With the first beta build being released now, we’re likely a couple of months out before a final version is made available to the general public, perhaps around the time that WWDC 2018 is scheduled.

The most recent stable builds of Mac OS are currently macOS High Sierra 10.13.4, and Security Update 2018-002 for Sierra 10.12.6 and El Capitan 10.11.6.
